Unfortunately, games are super complex, and sometimes our computers/phones/consoles don’t just work right on the first install. This could be for reasons as simple as one of your drivers being out of date, trying to play on a device that’s weaker than a game requires, or having a networking setup that makes playing feel less good than we’d hope. We’ve included a list of self-help options that should be able to help you get through most of the common issues. If you run into issues that can't be resolved on your own, you can contact Player Support for help by submitting a ticket through our Discord or on our website
Turn it off and on again
If you’ve made it so far to actually go to find a website to troubleshoot, you’ve probably already tried this, but as the tried and true solution to 90% (totally not made up percentage) software issues, let’s start here.
- Ctrl + Shift + Escape to bring up your task manager
- Locate “Omega Strikers” and right click
- Select “End Task”
- Relaunch Omega Strikers
You can also do the same thing to steam so you get a clean boot of both Steam and Omega Strikers.
- Ctrl + Shift + Escape to bring up your task manager
- Locate “Steam” and right click it
- Select “End Task”
- Relaunch Steam
- Relaunch Omega Strikers if you haven’t already
Installation Issues:
Because our game is provided through platforms and not our own launcher, the best places to go for help troubleshooting are linked below:
Out of Date Game Versions
This occurs when you try to play a different version of the game than our servers have, meaning that you’re unable to queue up for a match. The easiest ways to troubleshoot this are:
Steam
- First fully close and reopen Steam, and click on “Omega Strikers” in your library. If there is an update you should see “Update” where the “Play” button usually appears.
- To make sure you’re set to automatic downloads, right click “Omega Strikers” in your library > “Properties” > “Updates” > and then under “Automatic Updates” set your game to “Always keep this game updated” or “High Priority”.
Game Crashes:
Sadly, game crashes are one of the most common, and also the most frustrating issues to experience when playing a game. They can happen for a few reasons.
- System Requirements
- Third party apps
- Sometimes third party apps can cause game stability issues and if you have any running while playing Omega Strikers we recommend turning them off to see if it helps resolve the issue.
- Common out of date drivers/software
- Out of date Operating System
- This is a nice easy one. Hit the windows key on the bottom of your keyboard (looks like 4 squares)
- Type “Settings”
- Click “Update & Security”
- Video Card Drivers
- General PC Drivers
- Out of date Operating System
Outdated drivers are also a common reason Omega Strikers might crash or fail to work as you’d expect. Unfortunately, it’s outside the scope of this guide to personally connect you with each of the many unique drivers used by your hardware. Instead, you’ll have to visit the various support websites of each manufacturer for the latest driver updates. Be sure to check and update your drivers for each of the following:
-
- Common
- CPU
- Motherboard
- BIOS
- Inputs
- Keyboard
- Mouse
- Network

- Network card
- Modem

Networking Issues - Stuttering/Disconnecting/Lag:
Players play Omega Strikers on a wide variety of network conditions (wifi, ethernet, local coffee shop, and in house fiber connections). We try our best to provide the best networked experience that we can, but here’s some common troubleshooting steps if your game feels like it’s lagging. Ultimately, we as a game developer only have so many things we can do, but we wanted to provide a list of simple things you can do to improve your in game experience!
- Restart your router
- Sometimes a simple turn it off and on again can help resolve any potential networking issues
- If you are on wifi try switching to a wired connection
- The most common solve for any issue you have with networking is to move from playing on wifi to playing on ethernet if it’s an option for you. There are all sorts of things that can get in the way of your wifi connection that can cause spikes or outages, and your best bet is to get your laptop/pc hooked up to ethernet to eliminate as many of those variables.
- Update your network drivers
- Refer to section “Common out of date drivers/software"
- Update your router firmware
- Check your routers website for instructions.
- If you are on a wired connection, try changing the port used on the router or use a new ethernet cable
- A bad port or an old ethernet cable can cause potential networking issues.
- If you are on wifi try adjusting your router wifi band
- Most modern routers will have two bands: 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. You can try switching between them to see which options will work best for your network. We recommend checking your router’s website for instructions.
- Turn off any proxies or VPNs connections if you have any running
- Check to see if you have any downloads or updates running in the background and turn them off. Sometimes your PC could be running downloads/updates in the background without you knowing which can result in a slower connection. You should also avoid downloading or streaming anything else while gaming, such as movies, music, etc. as those can sometimes interfere with your connection to the game.
- Your DNS server is responsible for translating domain names into IP addresses that your computer can understand. Sometimes with the default DNS servers from your ISP they can run into issues causing poor networking conditions. Try setting your DNS to a public one using the instructions here.
