For those players looking for a deeper challenge and a way to climb the Leaderboard, Competitive Mode is the place for you.
Competitive mode has the same rules as Normal Mode.
- First team to score 3 points wins a “Set”. The Team that wins 3 “Sets” wins the match.
The one exception in Competitive Mode is that Strikers can be banned from being picked.
Tiers
All players will start their ranked journey in Rookie Tier and as they win matches they will start earning LP. Lose a match and players will lose a bit of their hard earned LP.
Once a player manages to reach 100 LP they will be promoted into the next rank and also be granted 10 LP. If a player loses a game whenever they have 0 LP they will demote down a rank. After a player reaches Omega rank their LP will be uncapped and they will be able to go over 100 LP. In order to get into Pro League players need a minimum of 100 LP in Omega rank. There is also hard limit to the number of players that can be in the Pro League.
For players above Challenger they can only queue up as solo and won't be able to enter Competitive mode in a premade group. (Currently on the NA/EU/JP matchmaking regions we are running a test and duo/trios are enabled for Challenger+ ranks. Once players reach Omega or higher they can only duo).
If you reach Challenger or higher make sure to stay active by playing games if you want to keep your rank as there is a Ranked Decay system which will deduct LP from inactive players.

Ranked Rewards
We’ll have exclusive rewards that can only be unlocked through missions while a Ranked Season is active as well as some items that can only be earned once a Ranked Season ends.

Once a season ends players will earn rewards (an emote for those that reached at least Gold rank as well as a title for those that reached Omega or Pro League ranks) based on their peak rank they achieved during the season.
You can always view the current ranked rewards when in game by simply clicking on the exclamation icon on Competitive Mode when viewing the different game modes.
